Tuiofu Foisia, Jr. (1944 – ) was born to a father from American Samoa and a mother from Western Samoa. His father’s service in the U.S. Navy led to the family moving from Samoa to Hawaii, and later to Carson, California. After graduating high school Tuiofu joined the U.S. Army in 1963 l. On his return to LA, he attended Harbor College for one year before beginning a career for United Airlines. Elizabeth Foisia (1951 – ) was born in Western Samoa and moved to New Zealand with her family in 1953. She met Tuiofu in 1971 when she came to California for a church conference, and they married in 1973. Kea Momoli Foisia (1949 – ) was born in American Samoa in 1949 and moved to California in 1964. Her family was friends with the Foisia family, and she married Tuiofu’s brother, Harry, in the 1970s.
